讲座内容：

Stem cells have a unique potential because they can change fate and become other cell types. Studying stem cells in vitro can shed light into their counterparts and molecular principles in vivo. Studying stem cells and related processed in vivo can help improve human health and delay aging. Yet, if somatic cell types (in culture or in vivo) are heterogeneous by definition, stem cells should be too. In my talk, I will explain the current work with stem cells in my lab and how we are studying them at the single cell level.

讲者简介：

Miguel Esteban教授，于2004年在西班牙马德里自治大学获得博士学位，2004-2007年在伦敦帝国学院医学部肾脏实验室从事博士后研究工作，自2008年起担任广州生物医药与健康研究院华南干细胞研究所首席研究员从事干细胞与疾病相关的研究工作。Cell Regeneration杂志副主编，Journal of Biological Chemistry杂志编委之一，以第一或通讯作者身份在Nature Methods、Nature Materials、Cell Stem Cell、Nat Cell Biol、Cell Research等杂志发表论文67篇。2017年获得中科院杰出科技成就奖（突出贡献者），2018年获得广州荣誉市民称号，2018年获得中国干细胞学会"中国干细胞研究创新奖"。
